Frequently Asked Questions

Q How do I join one of your soccer teams?

A Tryouts for club soccer typically take place the first two weeks in June. We understand that some players may miss the tryout dates, or may become interested in joining a club at outside of the "tryout period". If you are interested in joining Mill City FC, please click HERE.

Q We are new to club soccer and a bit unsure of such a large commitment, is there a way to give it a try before signing up?

A Absolutely! We encourage any player who thinks they might be interested in playing with Mill City to reach out to our Director of Coaching Jeff Lamy (JeffLamy@millcityfc.com) and ask if you could attend a practice (free of charge).

Q My child plays multiple sports, can we still join Mill City?

A Absolutely! As long as we know of any potential conflicts ahead of time we are happy to work with you!

Q When and where are outdoor soccer games played?

A All club games are played on Sundays. U9 - U12 teams play between 8am - 12pm, and the U13-U18 teams play between 1pm-6pm. The Mill City U9 - U12 teams currently play their home games at the Mass Youth Soccer complex in Lancaster, and our U13-U18 teams play at Chelmsford High School.

Q Why is futsal part of your outdoor program?

A Futsal is the only indoor game sanctioned by FIFA and is recognized as the best option for player development. It is especially great for improving speed of play, technical skills, decision-making and fitness. Our goal at Mill City is to develop technical and tactical players who are confident on the ball and in tight spaces. Once you experience futsal, you will see why players such as Pele, Messi, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Marta, Iniesta & Xavi all credit futsal for much of their skill development.

Q Can I sign up for a futsal team even if I don't play on an outdoor team?

A Absolutely! Mill City welcomes any player who is interested in learning futsal from the best! Our Director of Coaching Jeff Lamy is also the Director of Coaching for Massachusetts Futsal Association, United States Youth Futsal National Team Coach, and has recently coached the United States teams in Canada and Colombia.
